the marr factory – zambesi
In our second viewing of Zambesi s/s 12/13 there was more that we loved. There was surprisingly little black on runway, but then just when you think you know the direction Zambesi are going to take – they switch it around on you. We are used to the collection strongly featuring silks and black but not this time. With cerulean blue dots and orange camouflage, marbled lacquer and silver-grey, it all still had the wonderful deconstructed Zambesi feel. I heard someone say that you can always count on Zambesi to design clothes that are beautiful on the wearer… if that is the case, then there were a lot of beautiful people in the room last night, as there was far more Zambesi OFF the runway than there was on. There were current pieces, and a whole heap of back catalogue – I had nearly as much fun watching the crowd as I did the show itself. The hair was done by Chong Li of Stephen Marr. The make up was just stunning, with ‘pale and interesting’ skin, soft eyes and cheeks, and killer lips of red, blue and crimson Lipmix – all by Amber D from M.A.C. The nails were in my all time favourite M.A.C. lacquer shade, Vintage Vamp.
The DJ for the night was Ridge Jaggers, with the live music supplied by the amazing She’s So Rad during the show. All of what was on the runway last night, is available this season, with much of it already coming into store now.
