nzfw 2015 – third form

The highlight of the New Generation Show for me, was Australian based Third Form. There was nothing that came down that runway that I didn’t love. Nothing. This label is all about chic and concise layers – beautiful tailoring, amazing construction and fabulous materials. With a dark and muted palette (except for an eye-wateringly beautiful tangerine dress) of blacks and greys, this was one elegant collection. I will be running out of superlatives at this rate…
With layers of silks, wools, and leathers – mix was just gorgeous. I thought the belted leather coat was just a standout – especially as so many other pieces were sveltely tailored but this piece managed to have a more organic form – and it was leather… it was definitely my favourite piece. And the belted wool coat as well – quite beautiful.
Even the styling was brilliant – the shoes were styled up with belts wrapped around them.
I can only imagine we are going to continue to see great things from Third Form designer Merryn Kelly. I can’t wait to see what she gets up to.
