nzfw 2014 – lucy mcintosh

Lucy Macintosh had quite possibly the coolest soundtrack to her w2014 collection called Archy. With The Kills, King Krule (aka Archy) and Eliot Sumner – the music provided both the soundtrack and the inspiration for the show. King Krule’s musical style with influences of jazz, punk & hip hop is all wrapped up in a ballad style – this encouraged McIntosh to mix the unexpected. Soft pink wool coats over leather pants, sleeveless jackets, biker jackets in both black and white mixed with pleated skirts. Digitally printed wintery roses featured on boxy jackets and slim fitting pants. Crisp shirts in black under leather jackets (the must have accessory for winter 2015) and tailored coats, mixed with georgette silk skirts and touches of caramel.

Attention to detail even went as far as the boots for the show – designed and made exclusively made for Lucy McIntosh (in both black and white), and part of her winter w2015 collection. In all it was slickly styled and edited – An eminently wearable collection that was a great first showing at NZFW.
