What a treat to see Kate Sylvester’s Shanghai Fox AW2013 on the catwalk. This collection wasn’t at fashion week last year, so it was wonderful to see something new. It was a sexy collection with satin jackets and embroidery featuring quite prominently. There was much coveting of the raccoon faux fur jacket from the audience as it came down the runway, as well as the rose-covered knitted sweaters. Splashes of turquoise (especially the trench coat) and red (the floor length dress that finished the show) made for colour pops mixed in with nude georgette, bronze and deep browns. The other standout were  the classic pumps, with their colour-pop heels in turquoise, showed how to wear colour when you want to wear just a hint of colour! The knee-length boots in rich browns and black were also notable. Kate Sylvester herself was wearing a pair sitting front row.
