kathryn wilson – art of footwear

With the Divine Miss Kathryn hosting a night to remember for Ronald McDonald House, it always was going to be a fabulous night. At a suitably beautiful location, artworks by 20 creatives were auctioned with the proceeds going to a very worthy cause. All the artwork was based on Kathryn Wilson’s Winter 2013 Collection. With photographs, illustrations  and a shoe covered in half a million dollars worth of diamonds by Sarah Hutchings of Orsini there was plenty to look at, and bid for.  With a very select crowd (I am entirely unsure how I got to be invited), and the dress specified as cocktail – it felt like a very grand occasion. In fact it all felt very glamorous and sophisticated.  Kelly Thompson had people trying to outbid each other at a frantic pace for her illustration, but I hear an Olivia Hemus piece got the highest bid on the night. With $22,500 raised, beautiful artwork admired and Kathryn Wilson shoes from next winter mooned over – it was a fabulous night. And just so everyone can be part of the evening, $10 from each purchase of a pair of full-priced shoes on-line at kathrynwilson.com will be going to Ronald McDonald House.
