I may have possibly missed a few weekly round-ups in the chaos that was pre and post NZFW. I am nearly back to some sort of ‘normal’ rhythm – I will hopefully be posting Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week from now on, with one more post on the weekend being ‘the week that was’.  You may end up with two of these posts this week as I try to catch up with all that has been going on in the world OTHER than NZFW.

The lovely Shiana Weir is the name behind the label Mardle. While making the tough decision not to show at NZFW this year, she has none the less got her collection ready for Winter 2013.  Styled by the equally lovely Sopheak Seng and shot by Chris Park for NZ Style Collective, we get to see a bit of a teaser of what is coming.

Kathryn Wilson will be hosting The Art Of Footwear on 4th October with an exclusive event. Fashion photographers Chris Sisarich, Steven Tilley, Garth Badger, Rob Trathen and Olivia Hemus join Danny Pato from D&M, Vida Flores (who I love), fashion stylists Barry Betham, Dan Ahwa, Rachel Morton and artists Kelly Thompson, Stella Castle, Henrietta Harris, Scrap Wall, Adrian Hailwood, Alexi Willemsen and Gary Yong from the Cut Collective in a stellar cast who have all interpreted Kathryn’s shoes for their own artwork. Each artwork will be auctioned silently at the event with all proceeds from the sale of the artworks will go to Ronald MacDonald House, of which Kathryn is an ambassador.  Kathryn has partnered with Sarah Hutchings, Director of Orsini Fine Jewelery, to create a truly breathtaking fashion statement at the launch: guarded by security, will be a Kathryn Wilson heel from the W’13 collection covered in half a million dollars worth of diamonds! We will be there and bringing you the photographs of the evening.

This week sees the drop of gorgeous patterns and fabrics of Eley Kishimoto into Children of Vision. I love their accessories and bags – and lusted after the iPad cases last year… Deadly Ponies bags have also landed in-store as well!  It will be a busy week for James and Co… Children of Vision is in St Kevins Arcade, 179-183 Karangahape Rd, Auckland Central.  Their website is having a revamp at the moment – to be relaunched soon.

It will be The First Of The Season V.I.P event this Wednesday at The Foodstore, Market Square.  The Aroma Wine Garden designed by the very talented (and very lovely) Xanthe White is going to be the perfect place to taste the very limited Cloudy Bay 2012 Sauvignon Blanc.  It will be open to the public from 27 September til 11 October. Get in there to taste beautiful wine and see her amazing handiwork.

Lastly after all that fashion and fabulous-ness, is a way to help others less fortunate than yourself.  And also to have a lot of fun while doing it!  The Watties Cans Film Festival is into its 19th successful year, so again this year we will be swapping a can of food for a ticket to see The Avengers, The Amazing Spiderman, Brave, Hotel Transylvania, Ice Age, The Lorax or Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Dog Days.  Not only is it a great chance to see some movies that have finished on the big screen, (or nearly finished) but it is also a chance to help The Salvation Army stock up their food banks.  From 29 October you can start dropping in and swapping cans for tickets to the films which will all be showing on 7 November.  With Hoyts, Event and Reading cinemas all participating – it is a lovely way to help.  Maybe even give the tickets away to someone who needs the treat more than you do – a double whammy of happiness!
