nzfw 2012 – huffer

So it was left to Huffer to finish NZFW 2012 off in fine style.  To celebrate the opening of their new store in the Mackenzie development in Takapuna and fifteen years in business, Huffer threw one hell of a mexican themed party.  With margaritas flowing, Huffer managed to convince everyone to cross the bridge to fill the industrial space to the brim. Huffer chose to show in season with El Summer as both an installation and a runway show. With cacti made by Auckland artist Priscilla Hunter (which we heard may have been removed by a party goer), food supplied by Mexico (just a few doors down) it all had a great feel to it.  We almost forgot we were there to actually see the clothes!  The installation of photographs were taken by Mark ‘The Cobra Snake’ Hunter and styled by Zara Mirkin, were revealed one by one by the  models as they came down the runway.  I got to meet Mark earlier in the week and he is the sweetest guy – not at all jaded.  He has a great sense of humor and is just happy to talk and hang out.  He also just happens to be a talented photographer as well. It was a little hard to see the models, but no-one minded and luckily our photographer Michelle Weir got the shots for us…
