nzfw 2012 – twenty seven names
With two labels showing together off-site for a breakfast gathering (which is what RUBY did last year) – it was a brilliant start to Day Two. Blue Sky (presented by ghd) continues from their summer showing at the same location, this time with Twenty Seven Names and Ingrid Starnes. With the girls from Twenty Seven Names up first, with the entire collection coming out all together and then leaving to return one by one . Loosely taking their inspiration from the Jeffrey Eugenides book The Marriage Plot,(a gift from Rachel Eastwood to Anjali Stewart) ‘I Thought You’d Never Ask’. With possibly two of the best fabrics for the week with their strawberry print and their oversized multi colored dot on dresses with peter pan collars, empire lines and pretty frills. Ultra feminine and positively summery with classic jelly sandals worn with socks. The interweb has been absolutely buzzing this week with where to acquire said jellies, I imagine we will see them a lot over this coming summer. Loved the navy floral print used with together with a navy and white polka dot on the sleeves and body of blouses and dresses. With hearts on the knitwear and very English wool coats and tweed thrown in as well, it was great to see such a well put together collection. The soundtrack was brilliant with The Carpenters, Jimi Hendrix, Beyonce and The Who. Super cute collection by an exceptional clever duo…
