the week that was #4

The week has just whizzed by with lots of interesting stuff coming through.  This week we have jewelry co-labs, lots about hair, we also have more on the NZFW build up and we have divine shoes.

Starting with hair again this week – I am just loving the video from Davines.  It may, of course, have something to do with all the beautiful colors. They have just announced their new ammonia-free, permanent coloring system called – A New Colour. Using vegetable pigments and mineral powders for long-lasting, velvety colors.  The system is pleasant to use and is odourless.  The packaging is gorgeous – so I just had to include a shot!  A New Colour is salon only, and is being used at Killer Hair in Newton, Elysium in Three Kings, Rococo in Warkworth, Common Thread in Pukekohe and Fabrik in Hamilton.  Find out more at davines.com

Meadowlark and Superette have got together to celebrate Superette’s 10th birthday (10th?  When did that happen?  It went by so fast…) and produce two must have pieces.  They have taken inspiration from  the brand new Love Cats collection, and adding a touch of Superette rock n roll Leopard.  The result is the Leopard Charm Necklace $79 and our favorite the Leopard Ring $195.  Pre-orders can be made on-line at superette.co.nz this week.

Katy Perry and ghd continue their collaboration with some rather sophisticated shots from Ms Perry.  We are liking them…

Lots of NZFW news out this week, and more ghd news – they will be partnering with several labels we know and love, RUBY, Liam, Twenty Seven Names, Ingrid Starnes & Andrea Moore for each of their shows. With the styling being done by Michael Beel of Buoy in Wellington and Sara Allsop of Dharma in Auckland, we can look forward to a great collaboration.

They will also be collaborating with WORLD for their show next Wednesday 22 August at 6.30 at the Langham.  I hear there are a few tickets left – and it will most definitely be a fabulous night.  We will be there to bring you all the highlights…

The run sheet is out for NZFW with Liam/RUBY taking the coverted opening slot on the Tuesday.  They will be showing on-site this year after doing their own thing for the previous two years.  They will have 1000 guests!  Zambesi take the first evening slot, with Trelise & Huffer (Wednesday night) and then Stolen Girlfriends Club (Thursday night) respectively.  As usual the SGC show will be off site – but still no word about exactly where.

And a rather splendid note to finish on this week, Beau Coops for Karen Walker have arrived in store and on-line today.  So we have a healthy dose of Shoe Porn for you… I LOVE these shoes, and for me to consider wearing something that isn’t black is pretty monumental!  The LINCOLN is my favorite in both the Tan and Sorbet (tan and Yellow) and the Nero and Marine (Black and Navy) $785.00 Don’t wait around as I imagine these will go quickly.

Next week we have the WORLD show at the Langham as well as getting to find out about new luxury on-line boutique Mishka. We will have some affordable shoe trends and some other press from another favorite shoe designer… as well as the first post from Miss Madz (getting her organized is a MISSION!).  I also apologize for the lack of Interiors content, the Fashion Season will be over shortly and my thoughts will turn to all things to live with – promise…
